R.E.M. Celebrate 25th Anniversary of 'Green' Album With Two-Disc Reissue: May 14 Release Date of 'Green: 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition'

Rock band R.E.M. has announced they will be releasing a special 25th anniversary edition of their "Green" album along with an exclusive live EP. Twenty-five years ago R.E.M. released "Green," which featured some of their biggest hits such as "Pop Song 89," "Stand," and "Orange Crush." Rhino will be releasing the two disc set May 14.

"Green: 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition" will feature the remastered original album along with live performances from the band's stop in Greensboro, North Carolina during their Green World Tour. The remastered album with the original art will also be available on vinyl in addition to it's release digitally and in stores May 14. The original "Green" album was released in 1988 and is widely considered the band's breakthrough album.

R.E.M. are also going to be releasing a limited edition five song EP on April 20 in honor of Record Store Day. Only 2,500 copies will be made available. The EP will include "So. Central Rain (I'm Sorry)," "King of Birds,"
and "I Remember California."
