‘Dexter’ Returning to Showtime? Michael C. Hall Series Rumor Spreads on Thanksgiving
For those who were disappointed with the finale of Showtime's Dexter, there was a tiny feeling of relief this past Thanksgiving weekend. Rumors surfaced online that the famed Michael C. Hall series was coming back to the network. Which has us wondering: Is there any truth to it?
According to a report from Uproxx, the answer is "yes and no" – but mainly no.
Reportedly, there was talk of bringing Dexter back to Showtime immediately after it had ended back in 2013, with the very end scene being there merely to allow for the possibility of having Dexter Morgan return and continue onward in his morally revengeful quest to make things right, but as it stands, it looks as if it probably won't happen.
As you might imagine, the network has admitted that they won't continue the show unless Hall agrees to return and revive his role as the show's lead character. Sadly, he hasn't expressed interest in returning to the series.
Maybe because he wasn't a fan of it?
The whole rumor started because of a post by The Inquisitr, who appeared to write a Thanksgiving Day story as a result of a recent post made from the official Dexter Twitter page:
With this random tweet in mind, and the publication's headline "'Dexter' Returns!," fans were naturally smitten with the idea of the possibility of the return of the Showtime series. Which, honestly, probably won't happen. Then again, The X Files did come back. So...maybe? Naturally, Twitter would love it:
