Are you ready for the latest superhero rumors? The latest comic book movie rumors to be shot down involve the Hulk and a possible "Planet Hulk" movie. It looks like Mark Ruffalo, who played Bruce Banner in "The Avengers," has shot down rumors of a stand alone Hulk movie taking place any time soon. The 45-year-old actor tweeted that the next time you see the Hulk will be in "The Avengers 2."

Ruffalo tweeted Wednesday, "A lot of folks have been asking about the Next Hulk. The next time you see my Hulk it will be in the Avengers 2. No plans for stand alone."

Ruffalo added on Twitter, "I am not giving up on another stand alone HULK. But it's not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring."

The Hulk movie franchise has had its share of troubles over the last decade. Movie executives have tried two different times to create a successful Hulk movie franchise, failing both times. First Eric Bana starred as Hulk in 2003's "Hulk," then Ed Norton gave it a try in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk." Director Ang Lee's "Hulk" grossed $245 million worldwide, while Louis Leterrier's "The Incredible Hulk" earned $263 million. Both movies did ok, but after seeing what a great superhero franchise can do ("Iron Man"), Marvel Studios certainly feels it can do better.

It wasn't until Ruffalo portrayed Bruce Banner in "The Avengers," that it seemed like Hulk found an actor. Despite Ruffalo's tweets, it doesn't mean a stand along Hulk movie can't happen after "The Avengers 2." The second in the "Avengers" movies is set to be released in theaters May 1, 2015. So yes, fans will have to wait.

In the mean time, Marvel Studios is busy with an impressive lineup of future comic book movies. "Iron Man 3" and "Thor: The Dark World" are hitting theaters this year, while "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" are being released in 2014 and "The Avengers 2" and "Ant-Man" in 2015. Hopefully after that the next Hulk movie will get the attention it deserves.
