Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants Wide Receiver, Makes Amazing One Handed Catch
Odell Beckham Jr., wide receiver for the New York Giants, has a habit of making the extraordinary look ordinary. He did it last year with the catch of the year. He does it even when he's out of bounds. And he did it again this past week with an amazing one handed catch for a touchdown against the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins had opened up a 20 point lead on the Giants at home with under a quarter to play, but two long drives put together by Eli Manning and the Giants' offense put them back in the game. First, it was a 40-yard touchdown pass to Rueben Randle. Normally, that's considered pretty neat. But it became something of an afterthought after Beckham Jr. made one of the best catches of the year on the next possession, connecting on a 21-yard throw from Manning for the touchdown.
It's safe to say that catch was kind of good. OK, it was really good. It rivals the catch he made last year, and makes the catch of the day down in Key West sound 'meh.' To view it once would be an injustice to the spectacular spectacle it was. Here it is again on a never ending loop that is known as a vine.
Wow, that was still really good. Actually, this might be one of those things that get's better the more you watch it. You know, that Nickleback song on the radio you weren't quite sure about at first but now that you've heard it 30,000 times you really dig it? This is kind of like that, except not really at all. Still amazing though.
However, despite the heroics of Beckham Jr., the Giants would fall to the Redskins on the day, 14-20. The Redskins, meanwhile, move into a tie for first place in the NFC east.
