Rapper Jim Jones is claiming that Baauer's "Harlem Shake" is actually his! Jones was on the radio with Hot 97.3's Jenny Boom Boom and he disclosed that it was actually his record and it was intended for "Jersey Shore's" Pauly D. Jones explained that he recorded lyrics over the "Harlem Shake" beat as a song for Pauly D's album, but it never made it past the studio.

Baauer is the producer behind the music that is currently being used on all the YouTube "Harlem Shake" videos. Jones told Jenny Boom Boom, "Actually, that record was mine for a year, I had that record a year ago and I never... It was supposed to be for Pauly D's album and we never did nothing with it," the rapper said. "When I started to hear the 'Harlem Shake' and heard the beat, I was like damn, I had the record for a year, so I just put the record out." Jones goes on to say, "I been had that record before anybody even thought about that record. It was a record for Pauly D's album from 'Jersey Shore.'"

Pauly D recently signed a three album deal with 50 Cent's G-Unit Records and G-Note Records. Jones did eventually release his version of the song, which you can listen to in the video below. WARNING: Song/Video contains explicit content

As you can hear in the video below, Jones is promoting a new single "Green Light Go" featuring Swizz Beatz and produced by Scoop DeVille. The song features the beat from Dr. Dre's "Next Episode"

Jones is an original member of The Diplomats aka Dipset. He is also the co-CEO of Diplomat Records. Maybe Jones' most popular single to date is "We Fly High" from his third ablum in 2006. The Harlem rapper's most recent studio album was his fifth album, Capo, which came out in 2011.
