Kings of Leon New Album: Jared Followill Admits on Twitter He Is 'Too Drunk' To Finish Sequence For 'Come Around Sundown'
Rock band Kings of Leon are in the studio working on their sixth album, a follow up to 2010's Come Around Sundown. Their last album was massively successful and featured hit singles "Radioactive," "Pyro," and "Back Down South." The band, consisting of all brothers, are finishing up their newest album, but apparently are being delayed because of too much drinking. That is according to bassist Jared Followill, who tweeted Thursday night that he was too drunk to nail down a sequence for the new album.
Followill tweeted last night, "Wine isn't for everyone, but it is definitely for me." @youngfollowill went on to tweet, "Just tried for a sequence to the new album. Very exciting stuff. I can't quite nail it down due to the being too drunk. #Tomorrow"
It sounds like the band is working hard on the new album while enjoying a few drinks. It won't matter if their new album is as popular and critically acclaimed as Come Around Sundown. Hopefully they will be able to finish up soon so fans can start listening to their new music.
Kings of Leon are set to headline the "V Festival" this summer along with Beyonce. The event takes place August 17-18 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire. Kings of Leon have their hands full this year with the new album and a number other European shows.
The Followill brothers have been on a roll since their 2008 album, Only by the Night, which included huge hit singles "Use Somebody," "Sex on Fire," and "Notion." The album reached number four on the Billboard charts while gaining the number one spot on the UK Albums Chart for more than a week.
So if some wine is what Jared Followill needs in order to come up with more albums like the band's last two, then I'm sure most fans wouldn't mind.
