'Get It Shawty' Singer Lloyd Finally Gets His GED at 29 Years Old!
"Get it Shawty" singer Lloyd Polite has something to smile about. The 29-year-old finally got his GED. After promising himself that he'd always go back and finish high school, the New Orleans native finally did it! In the snapshot above, Polite studied hard to pass his test and said sometimes you have to take some steps back while you are moving foward.
Lloyd claimed that he wasn't ashamed to show a photo of himself studying. He wrote: "I am neither ashamed nor embarrassed to say that I've taken my first step towards that goal. Thanks to the support of friends and family, I'm ready to go back & finish what I'd started."
The "Lay it Down" singer added, "I just HAD to go back for my GED so I could at least show myself & others that there is no shame nor regret to be had or felt when you are making a conscience effort to become a better you." Just a few days ago, Lloyd updated his fans and showed off his GED certificate.
With all smiles the singer said: "Sometimes, I don't even know what to say to people. In fact, it's not that I don't know what to say, it's that I don't where to start. I do know how to start though. A simple thank you could suffice. I'd get so many messages of love, gratitude, and encouragement from people on here and in my immediate circle everyday."
Just like he was encouraged to get his GED, Lloyd also encouraged his fans. He thanked everyone for their well wishes and admitted that he didn't know where he'd be if it wasn't for the love. Lloyd finally completed something he started when he was only 17-years-old getting his first record deal!
Congrats, Lloyd! MStars News is very proud of you.
