Transgender 'Housewife' Amiyah Scott Lands Role with 'Empire' Spin-Off
This is a new time in America, one where everyone is free to be themselves and not ashamed of making it known to the world. According to TMZ, Empire creator Lee Daniels has just cast the transgender everyone embraces, Amiyah Scott, for an Empire spinoff.
According to Hollywood Life, back in August it was reported that Scott would be appearing on Real Housewives of Atlanta to take over the departure of NeNe Leakes. She would have been the first transgender on the show if the deal fell through.
That did not stop Scott. Daniels, an openly gay man, caught wind of Scott and supposedly loved her look enough to cast her in joining his fiction girl group in the Empire spinoff prequel about a younger Cookie Lyon, according to Sandra Rose.
"In a post on Instagram.com, Daniels raved about finalizing his new girl group, which he hinted included a female impersonator," the publication reported.
Scott currently has no credits as an actress, but that did not stop Daniels in seeking her out. TMZ says, "Amiyah dropped a clue she on to bigger and better things in her caption on a recent Twitter pic that read 'next chapter.'"
According to Hollywood Life, Scott has been reportedly linked to notable celebrities Souljah Boy, Ocho Cinco, and Boobie Gibson.
Back in 2011, Scott did a candid interview with Fab Femme addressing her romantic relationships:
"I've dated a number of celebs and musicians that are in the closet. Some of them really cared for me and were upset that we couldn't be together because of their careers. Others thought of me as a play toy or some kind of transgender trophy and that's not me. I'm a woman. I want a life and a family just like everyone else. I don't want to live in the dark about who I am anymore."
Here at MStars News, we salute Scott for being brave in addressing her story for other transgenders who may be living in secrecy.
