Mattel has done it again. Elle cover girl and Selma Director, Ava DuVernay, 43, partnered with the toy company to create a one-of-a-kind Barbie, according to the New York Daily News. Once fans caught wind of a possible #AvaBarbie, they tweeted until Mattel made the dolls available for purchase. The results, Ava Barbie sold out in minutes.

Reportedly, DuVernay's $65 Barbie sold out in 20 minutes. The director took to Twitter to express her excitement, "Sold out on Barbie collection, I'm told. ... What the hell is going on? #bananas #nuts #whoa."

Did you miss out on the chance to purchase the doll this morning? Well, Mattel is giving you all another chance by making the director doll available for purchase via Amazon. Hopefully you don't miss out on that opportunity.

The #AvaBarbie sits in a director's chair sporting a loc'd hairstyle, a black sweater, black pants, pink and white shoes.

DuVernay tweeted on Sunday, "Tomorrow this #AvaBarbie goes on sale for Christmas because enough folks asked @Mattel to do so. Wild + wonderful."

Vibe reports, "All proceeds from her Barbie will be donated to Color of Change and Witness, two organizations that draw attention to issues and topics within the minority community through film and technology."

The first appearance of DuVernay's doll dated back to April, "Mattel released six special-edition Barbie dolls to celebrate six 'sheroes,' including DuVernay, Kristin Chenoweth and Emmy Rossum, honored at Variety's Power of Women Luncheon."

What a wonderful feeling DuVernay must have to be one of six dolls that went to market.

She joins the ranks of Zendaya and Nicki Minaj in bringing diversity to the Barbie doll world. DuVernay's occupation, grace and style surely will give girls of color something positive to aspire after.
