Telltale's 'Batman" Episode Game 2016 News Hits The Game Awards 2015 With Announcement Trailer

Revealed on-stage at The Game Awards 2015, Telltale Games, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment made news about a new Batman game. The episode videogame released an announcement trailer with a release date set for 2016.

As we previously mentioned, The Game Awards honor the videogame​ ​industry's best games and players. The video gaming event united industry creators for a fun and memorable night of awards. With exclusive game premieres, and major music performances by ​CHVRCHES​ and ​deadmau5​, presenters included Mark Hamill (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), talk show host Conan O'Brien, YouTube personality ​iJustine, and ​Shawn Ashmore (X-Men: Days of Future Past), plus many more guests.

According to The Verge, after taking on The Walking Dead series and The Wolf Among Us Telltale is setting its sights on the Dark Knight. As of now, little is known about the plot, gamers should expect the title to have an episodic feel to it. Much like the other Telltale titles, it should be available on PC, Mac, home consoles, and mobile devices.

On the official Telltale Games blog, Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games, states, "At Telltale, we've been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we're excited to announce that we'll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year. This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy."

David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, adds, "Telltale has an established track record of creating award-winning content for some of the best properties in the world. We look forward to working with the team as they deliver a new interactive way for fans and gamers to experience the rich narrative world of Batman."

Though no specific platform details have been announced, Batman will premiere sometime in 2016.
