Before 'Dilwale' Release, Shah Rukh Khan Donated $150,000 for Chennai Flood Victims
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who will soon be sharing screen with Kajol Devgan in Rohit Shetty's Dilwale, reportedly donated $150,000 for those victims who are stuck in the Chennai floods.
In an official report by The New Express, the South Indian flood resulted from heavy rainfall during the annual Northeast Monsoon from November-December 2015. The flood affected the South Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Andra Pradesh and the Union Territory of Puducherry. As of now, more that 300 people have lost their lives in this act of God. Indian actor Rana Daggubati, of Bahubali fame, and many sports personalities like Saina Nehwal and Dipika Pallikal have come forward to help all the flood victims.
According to The Hindu, Khan has contributed $150,000 to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund. Sources say that the 50-year-old star has also written a letter to Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in which he showed his gratitude.
Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has given his respect to Khan's action. Earlier today, there were rumours started surfacing on Twitter that Khan has donated a whopping sum of $150,000 to Chennai Flood Victims. #SRKDonates1crToChennai was also trending on Twitter, and every fan of Khan was hoping to get an official statement from Chennai Express actor. As it turned out, Khan has indeed donated $150,000 for Chennai Flood victims.
