Terminally Ill Joey Feek Determined to Stay Alive for Daughter's Birthday and Grammy Awards
Joey Feek is terminally ill with cancer, but is bravely fighting to live long enough for three upcoming events important to her. The 40-year-old Joey + Rory country star "set a personal goal" to live long enough to enjoy Christmas, the second birthday of her daughter Indiana and the Grammy awards in February of 2016.
Feek, who was told she had around six to nine months to live in October, was thrilled to learn she and her husband Rory had received their first Grammy nomination for their duet "If I Needed You."
Rory spoke about his wife's brave battle with cancer to the Tennessean, saying that fans shouldn't be shocked if they attend the Grammys in February.
Feek's husband stated, "She’s so faith-filled and determined, don't be surprised if you see us sitting in the audience at the award show, holding hands and smiling when they open the ballot and read the winner’s name."

Rory revealed that Joey, who is so frail she is bedridden, woke up to the Grammy nomination news on Monday.
He posted on Facebook, "The song received no radio airplay... no press... no critical acclaim... and the only music video we made for it was to celebrate the day our little Indiana was born."
The couple are living back in Alexandria, Indiana, after Joey decided to stop treatment and enter hospice.
Rory is keeping fans updated on Feek's cancer journey on his blog thislifeIlive.com.
Feek discovered she had cervical cancer in 2014, several months after welcoming her daughter Indiana.
She had two surgeries in 2014, but the cancer returned and doctors told the singer there was nothing more they can do at this point.
