Authorities in Missouri were scrambling Tuesday to find 3 inmates (two of which were murder suspects) who had escaped from a county jail overnight.

The inmates apparently escaped through the ceiling, making their way out through the Butler County  jail's ventilation system. Sherriff Mark Dobbs blamed the escape on the faulty design.

All three suspects are considered armed and extremely dangerous.

"With the severity of their crimes they were being held for, we do believe it's possible they may have the capability to get their hands on weapons," Frank Casteel, 911 director for Butler County, said.

Matthew Brandon Cook, 29 was awaiting trial for the Feb 19 killing of Sean Crow in a McDonald's parking lot in Advance, Mo. According to a probable cause statement from Stoddard County deputy Hank Trout, Cook lured Crow to the parking lot by sending a text from the phone of a mutual friend. Crow was found dead in his truck from a single gunshot to the head the next day. Surveillance video appears to implicate Cook and another man in the crime.

Kade Stringfellow, 23, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his infant son Karson. Doctors at St. Louis Children's Hospital, where Stringfellow took his son to be examined last July, claim that the child had bleeding in the brain, multiple fractured ribs and other injuries that they believe stemmed from abuse.

Rodney Green,40, is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a Butler County home, holding the couple who lived there at gunpoint, shooting them during a struggle and fleeing in their pickup truck. The couple survived the incident with minor injuries.

As of press time, the three inmates are still at large and authorities from the surrounding counties are aiding in the search.
