Connor McGregor Reportedly Agrees to 'xXx' Sequel Movie With Vin Diesel
Getting a major Hollywood acting gig is easy: become a charismatic megastar in the UFC. OK, that's harder than advanced trigonometry. Still, it seems to be something of a fast track to the big screen. First it was Ronda Rousey -- she's still raking in the movie gigs, even after her loss to Holly Holm -- now it's Connor McGregor. The fighter has reportedly agreed to play a role in Vin Diesel's upcoming sequel to the 2002 hit, xXx.
Hollywood has knocked on McGregor's door for some time. While McGregor has admitted an interest to cross over to the big screen at some point in his career, he has previously resisted the temptation, focusing solely on his fighting. However, after his recent stunning knockout victory over Jose Aldo -- a fight that took a meager 13-seconds -- it appears as though McGregor can resist the temptation no longer.
To further fuel speculation, Vin Diesel posted a picture of himself with McGregor on his Instagram, captioning the post: "Timing and precision... The casting of the new XXX gets more exciting everyday."
Another one of Hollywood's biggest stars, Mark Wahlberg, is also reportedly interested in McGregor. The Ted star, and executive producer of Entourage, told TMZ that working with the new Featherweight champ on a project was "very possible," and given the right role "he could be great."
The interest in McGregor from the likes of Vin Diesel and Mark Wahlberg just confirms our theory: becoming a Hollywood big shot is easy. Again, all you have to do is become a ridiculously successful UFC fighter. After that, the script basically writes itself.
