Reggie Bush Rumors End: Detroit Lions Sign Four-Year Contract with Former Dolphins RB

All the Reggie Bush rumors clogging up your Twitter feed and sports pages may well be over. ESPN is reporting that the former Dolphin has signed a four-year contract with the Detroit Lions.

The former Heisman trophy winner and controversial running back has been one of the most closely watched free agents this NFL offseason. Reports had Bush talking with the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals, as well as the Lions.

Bush was in Detroit today to check out the team and talk with coaches.

"We're going to sit down and hash it out with my agent before making any decision," Bush said, according to the Detroit Free Press. "I'll meet with the coaches, and we'll go through the whole process with any team. It definitely does matter where I'll end up. I don't want to go anywhere blind. I want to know what I'm getting into and check out the facilities and see how I'll be used."

Apparently he liked what he saw as reports have him signing with the storied franchise.

Bush spent his first five seasons as an occasional bit player with the New Orleans Saints before spending the last two years in Miami. Over those two seasons, Bush has proven his worth as an NFL player,  rushing for 2,072 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Bush came out of USC as a star prospect seven seasons ago, but left fans disappointed with lackluster play. After being implicated in a USC recruitment scandal, Bush returned his 2005 Heisman trophy to the Heisman Trust that bestows the honor.

Bush was widely thought of as a draft bust before his last two stellar seasons in Miami made him a hot commodity.

Bush is expected to complement current Lions back Mikel Leshoure, who was Detroit's number one back last year.
