Saved by the Bell star Dustin Diamond will begin his four-month jail sentence in January 2016 after he was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed weapon and behaving in a disorderly manner earlier this year.

According to Yahoo, Diamond, who played the character Screech will report to jail on Jan. 15. Diamond, along with his lawyer Daniel Fay, appeared in an Ozaukee County Circuit Court earlier this week to cancel his appeal of the conviction. His charges were from a previous bar fight that happened last Christmas.

MStars News previously reported that Diamond was allegedly defending his girlfriend, Amanda Schutz, from a group of drinkers at the Grand Avenue Saloon in Port Washington, Wisconsin, when he pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the aggressors. The judge in the case didn't find Diamond guilty of a felony charge he still is receiving jail time and has to pay a $1,500 restitution.

Diamond's lawyer seemed to be pleased with the judge's finally decision. "We're happy with the results, we think that justice has been done. The jury did a good job," the actor's lawyer said.

Earlier this summer, Diamond apologized to the stabbing victim who apparently didn't know that he had been stabbed. The victim's womb was non-threatening.

"Let me express just how sorry I am that a night that centers around celebrating peace and love could turn into a night of immense regret for the rest of one's life," Diamond previously said. "Even though my intentions were solely to defend a loved one, they nevertheless were the cause of the single most terrifying experience of my entire life."

The former teen star said, "I want it to be clear that this situation will never be repeated again. I sincerely apologize to everyone, not just those directly involved, and ask for forgiveness for the way the night was handled."
