Kelis Welcomes Baby Boy Named Shepherd With Rumored Secret Husband Mike Mora

Kelis gave birth to a baby boy named Shepherd in November, but no other details have been revealed. The 36-year-old "Milkshake" singer and rapper is already mom to a 6-year-old son named Knight from her former marriage to rapper Nas. The identity of Kelis' second child's father is believed to be Michael "Mike" Mora. There are rumors the couple secretly married last year.

A source close to Kelis confirmed the birth to E! news, simply stating, "Kelis has a healthy baby."

Kelis has kept her pregnancy and married life private, but the singer did tell People that her son Knight was thrilled to have a sibling.

She said, "He's so excited, which is actually really cute. He's very grown up about everything. He was like, 'Congratulations, Mama,' like a friend [and] patted me on the back."

Kelis added that Knight said, "I can't wait. I'm going to teach him everything. He's all about it. He talks to my stomach all day long."

The singer shocked fans when she showed up to perform at the Afropunk festival with a very obvious baby bump.

Kelis reportedly secretly married real estate agent Mike Mora last December and is believed to be the father of baby Shepherd. Mora often refers to Kelis as his "wife" on Instagram.

Mora posted a photo on Instagram on Wednesday of a blue bag full of dirty diapers, captioning the image "#daddylife."

Kelis was previously married to rapper Nas, aka Nasir Jones, but she filed for divorce in April 2009 after four years of marriage. Nas later confirmed he had been cheating on his wife.

At the time, she was seven months pregnant with her son Knight.
