Sarah Palin Stars as Tina Fey in ’30 Rock’ Parody Following ‘SNL’s' Hillary Clinton Sketch
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin recently dropped a parody of NBC's famed series 30 Rock, aptly titled, 31 Rock. In the spoof, she stars as a Tina Fey-like character, Lynn Melon. The video comes just after Fey appeared on Saturday Night Live and, as fans were hoping, mocked Palin alongside fellow Sisters star Amy Poehler and castmember Kate McKinnon.
31 Rock stars Palin alongside her former presidential running mate John McCain as the Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) to her Liz Lemon, Sen. Lindsey Graham – who recently just dropped out of the 2016 presidential race – playing the Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer) character and, oddly enough, Tracy Morgan's entourage-member, Dot Com.
Throughout the clip, Palin mimics the very wardrobe, characteristics and dialogue that grew popular in Fey's character over the course of the show's seven seasons––especially, "Nerds!"
Now, while 31 Rock will not be appearing on NBC anytime soon, we're actually sort of praying more appears on Independent Journal (where it originated) in the future. Because, well, let's see how far they can take it.
As mentioned, Fey appeared on SNL this past weekend as the host alongside Poehler. The two were promoting their newest film, Sisters. During the show, Fey appeared as Palin while Poehler played a 2008 version of now presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The sketch was a "Ghost of Christmas Past" sort of thing – politicized, of course.
While it started out with the two Clinton's (the 2008 and 2015 versions), when Fey's version of Palin came into scene, well, the crowd reacted accordingly.
