Lance Armstrong, Bill Clinton: Disgraced Cyclist Compares Himself To Former President, Wants To Recover From Doping Scandal, 'Turning It Around'

After admitting that he used performance enhancing drugs during his legendary cycling career, Lance Armstrong has watched his reputation nose-dive into negativity and hopes to gain it back just like former United States President Bill Clinton after his sex scandal. The ex Tour de France champion understands his predicament but still finds it all to be hard to handle. Armstrong recalls how Clinton made such a huge mistake but is now seen in a very positive light and he wants the same to happen for him.

When asked about his current situation, Armstrong says, "It's been a bloodbath. But we expected that. You gotta put that stake in the ground and say, 'Okay, we're turning it around.' That had to happen first."

In order to "turn it around," Armstrong has looked to Bill Clinton as an example of rebuilding trust. The disgraced cyclist said:

"Ultimately, people forgive and forget and remember the good stuff you did. Is it hard to do? Yeah. But Clinton did it. He loves to work, he loves people, he loves to hustle. He's a hero of mine. He's a tough guy, he's smart, surrounded himself with good people. And 10 years later, he's president of the world. It can be done."

Armstrong was recently voted the most disliked athlete in America after his public confession to Oprah. In other words, he has a very big uphill battle in front of him in order to gain the trust of the people back.
