Steve Harvey to Host Miss Universe 2016 Pageant Following Colombia, Philippines Mess Up?

It must be Steve Harvey's lucky day because MStars News has learned that the TV host and comedian will more than likely be back for the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

According to Entertainment Tonight, a source that knows someone on the production team claimed the 58-year-old would probably be returning to the show despite his major mistake announcing the wrong winner.

Before the pageant, Harvey signed a multi-year contract to host the show and is one of the most highest paid hosts for the Miss Universe pageant. The deal he signed up for was for at least three years, but could be more.

If you hadn't already heard, Harvey announced – on live TV – Miss Colombia as the new Miss Universe, when in fact the crown was supposed to go to Miss Philippines. After the show Harvey apologized for the screw up and said that he accidentally said Miss Universe instead of the words, first runner-up.

"I just kept reading the card and it said, 'First runner-up,' and I went 'oh my goodness,'" Harvey told the press.

Despite the major hiccup, Miss Colombia had to remove the crown and give it to it's rightful owner, which was Miss Philippines.

Harvey is probably thanking his lucky stars, because the WME/IMG media agency that bought the Miss Universe Organization from Donald Trump earlier this year really adores the comedian, a source claimed.

Harvey also claimed that he messed up on stage because he didn't practice who would win the title. The winner wasn't decided until that night of the pageant. Other sources claimed that Harvey didn't attend either Friday or Saturday's rehearsals, but if you ask others they revealed that Harvey was at all of the required rehearsals that he was supposed to attend.

If the news is true that the Family Fued host still has a job despite his mistake, then his recent Instagram post probably backs that up.

TMZ reported that Harvey was spotted playing roulette at Caesars Palace before the pageant. The gossip site also claimed that Harvey had a few drinks before the show.

MStars News wants to hear from our readers. Do you think Harvey deserves host another year of the Miss Universe pageant after his mistake? We are human, right?
