'Shape' Magazine, Beyonce April 2013 Issue: Blue Ivy Pregnancy Weight Loss, Singer Reveals How She Lost the Baby Weight
Anyone who saw Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime performance was impressed with her physique and shape. Even more impressive is the fact that the former "Destiny's Child" singer was showing off her post-baby body at the NFL's premiere event. The 31-year-old singer dropped 57 pregnancy pounds and in the April 2013 issue of Shape magazine, Mrs. Carter reveals how she lost her post Blue Ivy baby weight.
In a behind the scenes video from the Shape magazine photo shoot, the singer reveals that she would never schedule an event three months after giving birth again. "I gained 57 pounds when I was pregnant. I didn't have a lot of time to lose the weight, because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again." The video, which was up on Huffington Post's website, has since been removed. The Huffington Post writes, "The behind-the-scenes video referenced above was leaked online accidentally and is no longer available."
That's okay, because fans don't need a behind-the-scenes video to know that Beyonce looks terrific. Beyonce told Shape though that she isn't naturally thin. "I'm not a person that is naturally very thin," the singer said. "I am a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape."
So, how does Beyonce keep the weight off? She reportedly credits her weight loss to an exercise regime that includes cardio, lunges, and of course dancing. It also doesn't hurt that the singer reportedly sticks to a healthy diet partly consisting of veggies and lean meat.
However, Beyonce warns that what may work for one person, doesn't always work for another person. "Not everyone is supposed to be the same," Beyonce told Shape. "Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you."
Beyonce's "Mrs. Carter Show World Tour" kicks off in the U.S. June 28 in Los Angeles.
