Colton Dixon Album Sales Skyrocket After Angie Miller Covers 'Never Gone' From 'A Messenger' on American Idol 2013
Colton Dixon saw immediate jumps in sales and in the music charts for his new album "A Messenger" and the single "Never Gone" after Angie Miller covered his song on American Idol 2013. He was a front runner in the last season of American Idol, and was known for his outspoken faith and great vocal ability.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, sales for the song 'Never Gone' increased from a couple hundred to 9,000 per week. That is a 45 times increase!
Other top 10 finalists also helped impact the sales of the songs that they covered. Curtis Finch, Jr. covered "I Believe I Can Fly" which also saw a jump on digital sales.
Amber Holcomb's cover of "I Believe in You and Me" brought the single back on the digital charts.
Miller's cover led the pack with the biggest influence on the sale for "Never Gone."
Dixon is currently on "The Miracle Tour" with Third Day and Josh Wilson.
