Poppy Harlow Updates Fans After Fainting on CNN: Pregnant Anchor Says Daughter is Fine
After a scary moment during Monday morning's new coverage, CNN anchor Poppy Harlow updated her worried fans and revealed that she and her unborn daughter are "fine." MStars News previously reported that the pregnant anchor fainted during a news segment as she talked about the threat of terrorism towards the United States. After regaining herself, Harlow claimed that she became "hot" for a second.
She told her viewers: "For all of you on Twitter who are asking if I'm okay, thank you so much. I got a little hot and I passed out for a moment. I am fine."
When she got off of the air, she tweeted her followers to reveal that she was with a doctor getting a checkup.
Harlow also revealed that her daughter is due this Spring. She posted another tweet from the hospital that read: "Update from the hospital – our little girl due this spring is doing just fine. Was a scare but we are both ok. Thank you all so much!"
According to ABC News, Harlow could have suffered from dizziness that comes with being pregnant.
"Dizziness can be very common during pregnancy," Jennifer Wu, an OB/GYN at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, revealed to the news site. "There are hormonal and physiological changes that happen to your body when you are pregnant, your blood vessels dilate in order to bring more blood to your uterus and to the growing baby."
The doctor added, "I tell pregnant patients it is better for them to eat small frequent meals. So instead of a big breakfast, big lunch or big dinner, better to eat every 2 hours. You should always contact your doctor about faintness and dizzines. Some symptoms are serious like shortness-of-breath, or chest pains."
