Adam Sandler Dead? Death Hoax Resurfaces Following Lil Wayne 'Dead from Seizures, Sizzurp' Rumors, Comedian Still 'Alive and Well'

By Danica Bellini,Mstarz reporter | Mar 18, 2013 01:53 PM EDT

Rapper Lil Wayne allegedly fell into a dangerous coma on Friday evening (March 15) after experiencing severe seizure-like symptoms. Several shady reports quickly surfaced online, claiming that Weezy had died from consuming too much Sizzurp (a concoction made of flavored soda and Codeine syrup). Those claims are completely FALSE - the "Lollipop" crooner currently remains shacked up in the hospital in "good condition." But thanks to the infamous cyber death scare, rumors started resurfacing online that comedian Adam Sandler had died - AGAIN. The "Happy Gilmore" actor remains a constant victim of the morbid celebrity death hoax, most dealing with a "tragic snowboarding accident on the snowy mountains of Switzerland." Mstars is here to reiterate that Adam Sandler IS NOT DEAD, despite seedy rumors currently circulating on Twitter and Facebook.

UPDATE: Adam Sandler Dead 2013, Morbid Celebrity Death HOAX Strikes Again: 'RIP Adam Sandler' Goes Viral on Twitter, Facebook Before 'Grown Ups 2' July Release Date, Actor NOT Dead!

As Mstars originally reported,

Here is the bogus Adam Sandler obit originally posted by the prank website Global Associated News back in September, which sent many Happy Gilmore fans into a mournful viral tizzy:

"Actor Adam Sandler is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today - March 18, 2013. (Obviously the website generates false up-to-the-date deaths).

The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Adam Sandler lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.

Adam Sandler was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death."

This (fake) news report has been circulating on the web since last September... but thanks to Lil Wayne's recent "death scare," fans are falling for the morbid lie once again.

One popular "R.I.P. Adam Sandler" Facebook page recently posted:

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday (March 16, 2013), our beloved actor Adam Sandler passed away. Adam Sandler was born on September 9, 1966 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

And that's when the death hoax blew up on Twitter (again):

@TheRealDadon: "dis mf over here crying cuz #AdamSandler died #RIP Adam Sandler."

@Karsyn_Brie: "Omg Adam sandler died today #RIP #SoSad."

@ZaleskiJohn: "RIP to one of the funniest and greatest actors... Adam Sandler."

@jayduh_18: "i now hate snowboarding. RIP adam sandler. You were my favorite."

@Barley24: "Sad sad news. Adam Sandler the "Sandman" has died. #RIP."

@ShizzleMayne: "Yo WTF did Adam Sandler die or what?> RIP he passed that man is a legend."

@BispoAustin: "Adam Sandler died in a snowboarding accident in Switzerland he was one of my favorite actors and will be missed #RIP."

The "death by tragic snowboarding accident" rumors are NOT TRUE. Sandler's reps officially confirmed with Media Mass on Sunday (March 17):

"He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet."

As Mstars suggested before, fans should make sure that they get all their info from credible sources before going crazy on social media... spreading fake celebrity death rumors are exactly what the hoaxsters want!
