Guns N' Roses Reunion Show at Coachella?: Axl Rose to Announce News on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'
Guns N' Roses are reportedly to reunite to headline Coachella Festival, according to Billboard. Axl Rose, Slash and the band are also rumored to be playing a huge tour across North America. Frontman Rose is set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, expected to make the big announcement of the reunion tour of Guns N' Roses.
Slash and Rose are set to play Coachella on the weekends of April 15-17 and April 22-24, according to the New York Times. The news comes after the musicians were in a two-decade long feud, with Slash suggesting they had peace in an interview months ago.
The reports of a possible band reunion were first circulated when guitarist Slash told CBS in May 2015 that the "tension ... has dissipated" between him and the frontman.
Slash said, "We don't have all those issues anymore. There's not a lot of controversy. It's something that's more perpetuated by the media than anything."
Guns N' Roses never officially split, but have not played together since the '90s, due to Slash and Axl's feud. The two engaged in a war of words for years.
Rose even once referred to Slash as a "cancer."
The guitarist said of the remarks, "You know, that's sorta funny. The fact that he would go and say that — I started thinking about it: I'm around a lot so to him I probably am a cancer. And now the record's doing really well, I'm even more cancerous! And apparently we're gonna be touring Europe at the same time, which will put even more emphasis on the cancer thing!"
There are no reports if other original Guns N' Roses members, Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan will also reunite with the band.
Billboard is reporting the original line-up of Guns N' Roses will headline Coachella, but also tour the United States in 25 cities. They also report the band will be requesting around $3 million per show, with tickets priced at around $250-$275.
Axl Rose will reportedly make an appearance Jimmy Kimmel Live! as early as next week to perform and announce the Guns N' Roses reunion at Coachella.
