"Bachelor Pad" 2013 Cancelled! "The Bachelor" Spin-Off Series Will Not be Returning to ABC this Summer or Possibly Ever
With Sean Lowe's "Bachelor" season concluding last week, and Desiree Hartsock's "Bachelorette" season premiering in May, fans usually have a "Bachelor Pad" full of both seasons' rejects to look forward to in the summer. However, the "Bachelor Pad" producer has announced that the fourth season of the "Pad" has been cancelled for 2013!
On March 16, a Twitter user called @okatie tweeted the ABC spin-off show's producer Mike Fleiss and asked "when is the next Bachelor Pad gonna be?," to which he replied "Not happening this summer..."
The Pad is an elimination-style game show that features contestants from past The Bachelor and The Bachelorette seasons who compete for a final cash prize of $250,000, explains HollywoodLife.
Of course no "Bachelor" spin-off series would be complete without endless drama, and The Pad never seemed to disappoint. The rejects usually congregate together in a "wacky house" where many hook-ups, fights, back stabbings, hot tub sessions, and sometime even romantic relationships ensue.
Although ABC confirmed that the show is definitely cancelled for the upcoming 2013 season, there is still no word yet on whether we will ever see the Pad again in the future.
According to Hollywood Reporter, season 3's ratings were not so great. The first two seasons of the show remained steady around 5-6 million viewers, but last season, they were down to nearly 4 million viewers, earning them a 1.3 in the key adults 18-to-49 demographic.
There is also no word yet on what ABC plans to replace the show with this summer, but the losers from Sean's Bachelor season like Tierra, AshLee, and Lindsay will unfortunately not get their second shot at fame, love, or money on the network this summer.
