Chris Hemsworth Thinks Jessica Chastain Should Play A Villain In 'Thor: Ragnarok'
Jessica Chastain has already proven that she can be wicked as the sinister Lady Lucille Sharpe in Guillermo del Toro's horror flick Crimson Peak. But can she play a Marvel villain opposite Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Ragnarok?
Hemsworth recently spoke to Cinemablend, where he was asked which of his The Huntsman: Winter's War costars would be an excellent baddie in the third Thor film. His response reflected his admiration for the actresses, who are none other than Mad Max: Fury Road star Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt from Sicario as well as Chastain.
"They all have potential to scare the hell out of me, any of those women. I felt like the little brother, getting bossed around by these three women in the best way," Hemsworth admitted.
Although the Australian actor was initially reluctant to choose a costar, he eventually made a choice, with a simple reason.
"Oh God, don't make me pick one... maybe Jessica, but only because [Blunt and Theron] are already villains in our film," he said.
Hemsworth's choice certainly sounds like a fancaster's dream come true and would bring in more A-list star power into Ragnarok. In December, Cate Blanchett has been reported to join the cast and could be playing a villainess. Although her role has not yet been confirmed, fans are already speculating that the Academy Award winner should portray Hela, Goddess of Death.
With Blanchett onboard, which female villain could Chastain play in Thor: Ragnarok? There are already some speculations that she would make an excellent Amora the Enchantress opposite Blanchett's Hela.
Thor: Ragnarok will be directed by Taika Waititi of What We Do in Shadows and will also star Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk as well as Tom Hiddleston as Loki. The film's screenplay is being written by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost. It is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017.
