Lil Wayne Hangs with Nicki Minaj on 'High School' Music Video Shoot Before Seizure, Coma, Death Scare [VIDEO]: Songstress Releases Behind-Scenes Footage
Songstress Nicki Minaj released exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage from the music video set of her new highly-anticipated single "High School" on Tuesday (March 19). In the footage, rapper Lil Wayne is featured hanging out and goofing off with the "Superbass" diva... just hours before he was rushed to the hospital and placed in the intensive care unit for severe seizures. Rumors began swirling on the web that Weezy had fallen into a life-threatening, medically-induced coma after consuming too much Sizzurp (a concoction made of flavored soda and Codeine syrup). Several fans were led to believe the "How to Love" crooner was on the verge of death. But updated reports confirm that Lil Wayne is in good condition - the rapper was finally given a clean bill of health and released from LA's Cedars-Sinai hospital late Monday evening (March 18).
According to several reports, Wayne was allegedly first hospitalized last week following seizures he experienced after appearing on the "High School" video shoot. The Young Money mogul was briefly released, but eventually rushed back to the hospital on Friday evening after allegedly being found unconscious. He remained in treatment for several days, and was finally released late Monday.
TMZ initially reported that the rapper was in a medically induced coma, that his seizures were triggered by a codeine overdose, and that Wayne had been read his last rites because was struggling to pull through on life support. Lil Wayne's reps heatedly deny these rumors.
Fellow rapper Mack Maine tweeted about Wayne's updated condition:
@mackmaine: "@LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home...God is great."
Maine previously tweeted:
@mackmaine: "Don't believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe ... that's false!!"
Reports confirm that several of Weezy's good friends and music industry associates, including Nicki Minaj, visited him while in the hospital.
