'Lucha Underground' Season 2: Mark Burnett, Robert Rodriguez Teaser Art Before El Rey Premiere
From Emmy award-winning Mark Burnett (Survivor) and Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn), Season 2 of Lucha Underground has released all-new teaser art before its premiere on the El Rey Network. Get ready for the freestyle wrestling and high-flying this January!
As we previously mentioned, El Rey presented audiences with the world of Lucha Libre, the no-holds barred world of freestyle wrestling and high-flying aerial maneuvers. In Mexico's most popular sport, the masked villains and heroes confront against each other in one-on-one matches. El Rey Network, the Survivor creator, and United Artists Media Group announced that their wrestling series is returning for a sophomore season. Lucha Underground was heading back into production in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.
According to IGN, El Rey Network has released the teaser art for the sophomore season. The illustration features the current Lucha Underground champion, Mil Muertes. But can Mil Murexes hold onto the title when season two brings in the competition from Joey Ryan, PJ Black (aka WWE's Justin Gabriel), and Rey Mysterio?
We also mentioned, before the official premiere, there will be 5 hours of back-to-back episodes from the first season on Wednesdays 8pm beginning January 6th. Then there will be an epic weekend long, 40-hour marathon of the entire season from Saturday, January 23 at 10 AM to Sunday, January 24 at 2 AM.
