Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe has spoken out after he was mistaken for a bank robber in Oregon earlier this week. Rowe joked about the situation on Facebook, but did say that he had an alibi. You know, just in case.

Thanks to Facebook, Rowe discovered that he has a doppelganger. After Medford police released a picture to the public asking for their help to find a recent bank robber, the reality TV star was inundated with Facebook comments. The man police were looking for bore a striking resemblance to Rowe, at least in a blurry surveillance video still, and fans did not hesitate to let him know it. In fact some even jokingly suggested he turn himself into the authorities but he decided to handle it another way.

The Discovery Channel star took it all in stride and actually got in on what was clearly a joke. He released a statement on Facebook, not only acknowledging how much he looked like the wanted man but also giving himself an alibi. He shared that at the time of the robbery he was actually in Kansas, nowhere near the Oregon bank. In his statement, he even went as far as to say he could prove his whereabouts, if police thought it was necessary.

Rowe went on to comment that he hasn't been 5'6 - 5'8, the height of the bank robber, since he was in 6th grade. The entire statement is pretty lengthy and hilarious, so feel free to read it below.

Medford police even got in on the joke on Tuesday by releasing a statement on Facebook that thanked everyone for all their tips and that an arrest warrant for Mike Rowe had been issued, quickly followed by a just kidding note. Soon after Rowe made his statement the Medford police once again took to social media to make the funny remark that they are "now looking for a suspect wearing a Mike Rowe mask, which is brilliant, why didn't we think of that."

Good morning folks. First off, we appreciate all the tips on the bank robbery from yesterday. In fact, thanks to you...

Along with hosting Dirty Jobs, Rowe is also known for his CNN show Somebody's Gotta Do It. Both shows feature him taking part in different jobs that no one wants to do but it is necessary that someone do them. The latter features more labor jobs, where the first features more unusual jobs.
