If you weren't too busy snagging BioShock: Infinite, you might have noticed that The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct came out yesterday. The first-person shooter (based on a TV show based on a comic) delves into the back story of crossbow-wielding uber-badass Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle as they attempt to fight their way through the hordes of undead in rural Georgia on their way toward Atlanta.

Players have to navigate Daryl through the backwoods while attempting to avoid detection by hordes of walkers. The walkers are as smart as their television counterparts, using smell sight and sound to track down the potential snack that is Norman Reedus.

It doesn't take much to attract an undead frenzy in this game. If you are spotted by one walker, know that countless more are in tow. Players are then tasked with taking the horde head-on an risking a potentially deadly bite or using stealth and speed to avoid and outmaneuver the walkers.

The Walking Dead is almost done with is only now wrapping up its third season, but it already has two video games under its belt, both by Activision.

The Walking Dead across all platforms seems to like healthy competition, releasing their tie-in title right alongside one of the most anticipated games of the year, BioShock: Infinite. At the same time, the AMC television show's season finale will duke it out with the season premiere of ratings titan HBO's Game of Thrones.

IGN has a nice video of some gameplay here for anyone not quite ready to shell out on Survival Instinct.

What do you think? Will you be buying The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct over BioShock: Infinite? Is there room in your wallet for both? How about the TV show? Are you watching The Walking Dead or GoT on March 31?
