"Octomom" (real name Nadya Suleman) is reportedly allowed to earn up to $119 thousand a year and still be able to collect welfare according to California law. However, her stint in the stripping and pornography industries (as well as publicity stunts) last year has more than likely added to her income. Now that some claims against her have been made, an investigation has opened up and the mother of 14 children could be looking at 3 years behind bars.

TMZ reports that "someone made the allegation last week to the L.A. County Dept. of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation (WFP&I), claiming Octo is getting various forms of welfare, including food stamps, even though she made nearly $200,000 in 2012."

After these allegations were made, a probe into the matter has started and witnesses are being interviewed. A source close to Suleman has confirmed the investigation to E! Online, saying, "I can confirm that the authorities have been in contact with us concerning her income and we have been cooperating."

Octomom opens up to Oprah about PTSD

Suleman recently sat down with Oprah on OWN's "Where Are They Now?" In her interview she opens up about her pornography career and her posttraumatic stress disorder. Here are some excerpts from the interview as well as a clip following the quotes:

"One thing I listened to was when [Suze] said I should do it all on my own. No help. It did help financially, but it took a toll emotionally and physically. It took a huge toll."

"I was starting to crack. And it got worse... I had all these panic attacks."

"I went to a treatment program for 30 days. There was a team of doctors and psychiatrists assessing me and diagnosing me. I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. Severe post-traumatic stress. In order words, [like] someone who's a soldier in war, I feel like I'm still in war sometimes. But we have to win, right? There are 15 lives at stake."
