Former "Disney" heartthrob Selena Gomez is growing up right before our eyes. From getting her start on "Barney and Friends", spending her teenage years on the "Disney Channel" and dating one of the most popular stars in music, Justin Beiber, Gomez, 20, is mature and ready to evolve from her "Disney" days.

While promoting her latest film, "Spring Breakers" in which Gomez stars as Faith, a Christian college student, who puts her faith aside to accompany her peers on a Spring Break journey of a lifetime; Gomez confirmed her single status and even hinted to making her ex Justin Beiber cry.

Gomez appeared on the "The Late Show" on Monday night and David Letterman asked about her recently single status and mentioned that the last time Beiber appeared on his show he made him cry. The witty and clever Gomez responded playfully, "Well, then that makes two of us."

Selena's Justin jab caused fans of both her and the Beibs to go into Twitter frenzy, as fans took sides aligning with their favorite icon. Some said her comments were mocking the rumors that she and Justin Beiber broke up because he cheated, according to Twitter.

Although Gomez is known for her sweet innocence on the "Disney Channel" she is officially a not a teenager and has broken out of her good girl shell to reveal her darker and grown-up side. In the role as Faith in "Spring Breakers", Gomez wore a neon barely-there bikini for a majority of the film. Faith is the gun toting half naked outlaw, who robs a dinner along with three friends for money to head to Florida for an excursion full of booze and sins.

"Spring Breakers" is definitely a new venture for Gomez. Check Gomez and former "Disney" star Vanessa Hudgens out in the wild party film, "Spring Breakers" in theaters Friday, March 22, 2013.
