In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Christian Grey fan-favorite Ryan Gosling reveals that he's finally ready to take a break from acting for a bit. Does that mean the sexy and charming 32-year-old is officially out of the running to snag the kinky role of Mr. Grey in E.L. James' highly-anticipated film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey?" If so, are fans totally heartbroken?
Gosling has remained a hot Christian Grey contender ever since casting rumors began circulating on the web earlier last year. As Mstars originally reported, Gosling has already stolen the hearts of many Mr. Grey fans - even several starlets in Hollywood. Read more on those stories here:

And of course, there's always this...
It's already obvious that Gosling and Emma Stone share an awesome onscreen chemistry - just check out their romantic, sexually-driven performances in "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and "Gangster Squad." So how about taking things to the next emotional level in "Fifty Shades of Grey?" Some fans have already made that kinky leap by combining a bunch of movie clips into a raunchy collection of some of Gosling and Stone's best sex and bedroom scenes. And the result - a hot and steamy "Fifty Shades of Grey" main cast!
But having starred in so many hit roles, Gosling thinks that he's lost perspective on what he's doing in life. The "Notebook" hunk is ready for a break, which means he probably won't take on the sexually demanding lead role of Christian Grey. Gosling tells the AP:
“I’ve been doing it too much,” the actor says of acting. “I’ve lost perspective on what I’m doing. I think it’s good for me to take a break and reassess why I’m doing it and how I’m doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that... I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does."
He continues, “There’s a lot of pressure to be the lead of a film - I have done it. It’s not my favorite way to work... The more opportunities I’m given, the more I learn about how easy it is to fu## it up. You fight for freedom and then you get it, and then you have enough rope to hang yourself. It’s like trying to exercise some restraint because I do have so much freedom.”
But no worries, Gosling fans - the "Gangster Squad" heartthrob is set to appear in two films this spring, "The Place Beyond the Pines" and "Only God Forgives." He will also make his directorial debut with "How to Catch a Monster."
As for "Fifty Shades" fans... looks like it might be time to pick another fan-favorite! What do Gosling supporters think of this latest "casting" news?
