Rory Feek updated fans on the condition of his wife Joey Feek as she struggles through a cancer battle that will eventually take her life. In an emotionally raw blog post, Rory shares news about what life is like these days for the woman he loves.
In a post shared via his personal blog, This Life I Live, the country singer revealed that his wife is "ready to come home." As he explained it, she held his hand then told him, "She has been in talks with Jesus and told him if he is ready to take her, she is ready to come home." He said her "pain and discomfort has increased and also that the "morphine dosage has quadrupled in the past four days." After that somber news, Feek wrote, "I'd like to tell you she is doing great and she is going to beat this thing. But I can't."
Along with updating fans about the state of the Joey's condition, the Joey + Rory singer also talked about a song the two wrote in 2012 called "When I'm Gone." Ironically, it's a song sung from the perspective of a dying woman to her loved ones. Rory said their make believe video/song was coming true and that both would help him when the time came to say good-bye to his wife.
Rory Feek has used the blog and Facebook to update fans about Joey's condition, and to also share their journey. In 2014, a cervical cancer diagnosis rocked the couple's world just months after their daughter, Indiana, was born. Although she quickly underwent surgery to remove the original cancer, it returned this past summer. In October, Joey shared that she had stopped all treatments for her cancer, after she was given months to live.
