Model Jerry Hall Engaged to 84-Year-Old Rupert Murdoch After Four Months of Dating

Former supermodel Jerry Hall, 59, and 84-year-old businessman Rupert Murdoch, are engaged, making the big announcement in a newspaper owned by the billionaire. The odd couple have only dated for four months.

Rupert, the executive chairman of News Corporation, announced the engagement in his publication, The Times.

The ad stated, "Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger are delighted to announce their engagement."

This will be the fourth marriage for Murdoch and the official uncontested marriage for Hall, after spending over 2 decades with Mick Jagger. Murdoch's first marriage was to Patricia Booker in 1956, divorcing the former flight attendant a year later to wed a young Scottish writer named Anna Maria Mann the same year.

He divorced Mann in June 1999 and 17 days later married Chinese businesswoman, Wendi Deng. Murdoch divorced Deng in 2013 amid rumors she was having an affair with British Prime Minister Tony Blair. 

Hall was in a relationship with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger for 20 years, getting married in 1990 in Bali. The singer claimed they were not legally married during their divorce in 1999.

Hall and Jagger had four children together, but the court agreed with Jagger and the marriage was annulled instead of ended in official divorce.

Murdoch reportedly proposed to the former model while in Los Angeles this past weekend for the Golden Globes.

The Telegraph reports that the model and billionaire were introduced in Australia by his sisters and a niece.

Murdoch owns the newspapers The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, British tabloid The Sun and many other publications. He is reportedly worth over $13 billion.
