Jennifer Lawrence has been labeled "rude" for calling out a foreign reporter for being on his phone as he interviewed her after the Golden Globe awards. The Joy actress appeared to tell the man off, which resulted in fans taking to social media to blast the actress for her behavior.
The reporter, E!'s Juan Pablo Fernández-Feo, was reportedly bashed by the Oscar-winning actress on Sunday night just after she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for her role in Joy.
ET pointed out that the 25-year-old actress, who is well-known for having a dry and sarcastic sense of humor, was probably only joking. The website also adds that the video that went viral did not show the entire exchange between the actress and reporter.
His follow-up question shows him asking, "How was working with Edgar Ramírez?"
Lawrence replied, "Working with Edgar was wonderful. He is so sweet. He's great, a terrific actor. I mean, doing scenes with him is phenomenal.
"He really helped me with Spanish. All of it's gone now. But I loved working with édgar. When we had our reading together -- you know, we read with so many amazing actors -- and the moment Edgar left, we were like, 'That's the one. There he is.'"
The original video clip that made the rounds on the Internet made it appear Lawrence was humiliating the reporter while backstage answering questions in the press room.
The reporter asked Jennifer a question and she chided him, stating, "You can't live your whole life behind your phone, bro. You gotta live in the moment."
He laughed off her comments, proceeding to ask her about Oscar night.
The actress corrected him, stating, "We are at the Golden Globes, if you put your phone down, you'd know that."
The reporter, who works for Latin America's E! Network, later posted on Instagram about being "scolded" by Lawrence in Spanish.
One person hinted that Lawrence was being a hypocrite, posting a photo of the Hunger Games actress on her phone at an awards show.

A Twitter user had a good point that the reporter may have been using his phone for notes.
My dad is a journalist. He use to read off notepads before smart phones were a thing. Now iPhones are their notepads. Nothing new. — Graaa-Thot-Thot-Thot (@delafro_) January 11, 2016
Another person addressed the incident, pointing out the foreign reporter could have been using a translator on his phone.
