Several years ago, aspiring Mashachusetts emcee Token released an epic remix to Eminem's hit song, "Rap God" -
Soon after, fans began deeming him the "next Slim Shady," ultimately prompting this Facebook response from the young lyricist (December 2013):
I've been bombarded with these Eminem comparisons lately. Now, he is without a doubt my first and strongest musical inspiration, along with being my favorite artist. Hell, I pretty much encouraged the comparisons with my Rap God remix, but I am more than a Shady-wanna-be. I am not offended, the only music I've put out lately has, for most part, solely focused on my lyrical ability as an MC, so I understand. But let's set the record straight. I am NOT just another dude who just raps about how dope he is. In fact, those aren't even the songs I enjoy making the most. So here's my final opinion. If you call me an Eminem-imitator, but refuse to listen to my new mixtape The Mindstate, your opinion is INVALID. This tape is not only on some "lyrical- miracle" shit, and if you are so ignorant that you won't take the time to listen to what I've been working on, a mixtape filled with diversity, I don't want to hear it. The Mindstate will be out soon, GET READY.
And Token's since kept his word, premiering this new hard-hitting single entitled "Still No Sucka MCs" via allhiphop.com earlier this week:
The clip's already garnered more than 49,000 views and counting. Do MstarsNews readers think he stands a chance against the MMLP2 superstar's fame?
Stay tuned for even more viral beats from Token.
