Parents Killer's Father, Newtown Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre: Mother of Shooting Victim Emilie, Alissa, and Robbie Parker Wanted To Meet Adam Lanza's Dad, Peter

6-year-old Emilie Parker was of the 20 first-graders killed on December 14th in the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre by gunman Adam Lanza. Her parents, Alissa and Robbie, met with the shooter's father, Peter, in order to gain some closure on the death of their daughter along with the other children. The Parkers asked Lanza about his son's mental health and if he had other issues.

Alissa Parker told CBS This Morning that meeting with Pater Lanza was her idea and that she felt the need to do it.

"I felt strongly that I needed to tell him something, and I needed to get that out of my system. I felt very motivated to do it and then I felt really good about it and prayed about it. And it was something that I needed to do."

Not much is known about what was discussed but among the mental health questions, according to CBS, they asked Lanza about his and his ex-wife's relationship with Adam. So far the only information given is that from the clip that aired on CBS This Morning today, the rest of which airs tomorrow.

Robbie Parker was the first parent of a victim of the massacre to make a public statement. He explained that he believed the world was a better place because of Emilie, saying, "She was beautiful. She was blond. She was always smiling ... I'm so blessed to be her dad."

The 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 children and 6 educators before killing himself that day in December. He had also killed his mother, Nancy, before going to the school. His father Peter, who was divorced from Nancy, was also questioning Adam's motives in a statement he released about the shooting spree. Reports claim that Adam Lanza "showed
