Last year, Ricardo Medina, Jr., best known for his role of the Red Ranger in Power Rangers Wild Force, was arrested over the death of his roommate, Josh Sutter, after an altercation involving a sword. A year after walking free, the actor was re-arrested and charged with one count of murder.

According to Deadline, Medina was arrested over Sutter's death this Thursday, picked up by sheriff's department and then charged with one count of murder by the L.A. County District Attorney's office. If Medina were convicted of the charge, he could be facing from 26 years to life in prison.

He's set to appear next Tuesday at the Antelope Valle Branch of the L.A. County Superior Court, when the prosecutors will be asking that his bail be set at $1 million, Variety reports.

It's been nearly a year since the January 31 incident where Sutter lost his life. At the time, Medina was first arrested for stabbing his then-roommate with a sword, but he was ultimately released when the case was rejected because the D.A. still had very little information to work with. Obviously, the situation has changed and authorities believe there is enough evidence to make a case against Medina.

TMZ was the one who first reported on Sutter's death last year, recounting the odd events that led to Sutter's death. Both roommates had gotten into a fight, which led Medina to retreat to his room alongside his girlfriend. Then, Sutter forced himself inside the room, prompting Medina to stab him once in the abdomen with a sword (presumably a collectible) he kept in his bedroom.

With Sutter unconscious, Medina called 911 and was arrested for murder, where his bail was set at a million dollars. Sutter was transported to a hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead.

The actor's most notorious work has been as Cole Evans/Red Ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force, then returning to the franchise nearly a decade later on 2011's Power Rangers Samurai. He's also had guest appearances on E.R. and C.S.I.: Miami.
