George Clooney, Stacey Keibler Split? In Spite of Marriage Rumors, Dinner In Berlin Friends Claim Couple Are Heading For Breakup [News Update]

Sources close to George Clooney are reporting that he's heading for a split with longtime girlfriend Stacy Kiebler, according to ShowbizSpy. The indicator of the impending breakup? Clooney is buying Kiebler gifts.

When he starts buying you things, it's his way of letting you down easy," a source said.

This does seem to fall into Clooney's modus operandi. Immediately before dropping ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, he paid a one-year lease on her home.

George, who is set to star in the upcoming drama The Monuments Men, has reportedly purchased several pricey pieces of jewelry for Kiebler and increased her monthly allowance to $25,000. The duo is also approaching what is typically the perennial bachelor's time limit for serious relationships.

"Just when the girl thinks she'll be the one he finally marries, he says goodbye," a source said.

This news comes hot on the heels of a recent breakup rumor. Apparently the two had a disagreement over the idea of a possible marriage (this is Clooney we're talking about, after all). Everything appeared to be smoothed over, however, when the two were spotted out on the town in Berlin.

The duo had dinner with fellow movie star Matt Damon and film producer Grant Heslov and where sen holding hands.

However, even this has been met with skepticism, with sources close to the couple coming out of the woodwork to claim the end is nigh.

"They have little in common," an unnamed source told Us Weekly. "She likes to go out and have fun. She's been feeling the age difference."
