The latest details are starting to come in involving the Rolling Stones 2013 tour. The band's North American arena tour will net the band between $4 and $5 million per show. Tickets for the show will cost between $500 and $600 for the best seats in the house. There also is news on who will be promoting the band's 18 show tour that begins May 2. According to Rolling Stone magazine, the band was planning on going with Virgin Music until Tuesday morning when a lawyer for the Rolling Stones informed AEG that they will handling promotion for the 2013 tour. Sources told Billboard that Dainty and Virgin Music couldn't agree to financial terms with the band believed to be in the $80 million range. Dainty and Virgin were the promoters who put on the Rolling Stones' highly successful string of 50th Anniversary shows in London, Brooklyn, and Newark.
The Rolling Stones 2013 tour will be the band's first full tour since 2006-2007. As a part of this spring/summer tour, they will be making stops at London's Hyde Park in July and possibly some other European dates.
News also was reported recently by Rolling Stone magazine that back in the mid-seventies, the band's touring pianist Billy Preston reached out to legendary singer/songwriter Shuggie Otis. The Rolling Stones reportedly wanted Otis to join them on their tour. However, Otis just finished up his 1974 album Inspiration Information, so he turned the rock band down.
