'Love & Hip Hop New York's Cardi B. Explains Why She Worked as a Stripper: "I Was Poor"

If you’ve been watching Love and Hip Hop New York, then you already know it’s no secret that rookie, Cardi B., is outspoken. During a chat with VLAD TV, Cardi opened up about her past and revealed that she was “poor” before making a decision to become a stripper.

When asked how she got started in the adult entertainment business, Cardi B. said: “I was poor as hell. I was leaving with my ex-boyfriend that was beating my ass, I had to drop out of school. I was living with his mama and two pit bulls in a bedroom…it was crazy,” she explained.

Cardi, who's been spicing up the show, said that she dealt with a lot of domestic abuse in her past. B. claimed that she was would hit her man and he’d hit her back. She asked the reporter, “You know how b*tches love hitting guys, they love hitting n*ggas like ‘oh my gosh you cheated on me and slap them?’” B. said, “That sh*t going to come back.”

She said that she was so quick to move in with her boyfriend at the time and had to grow up. She cooked for him and did other things while getting her “ass beat everyday.”

Cardi said that she stripped to get herself out of that relationship. She said that stripping “saved my life.”

“People make it so negative but it really saved me from a lot of things. When I started stripping I went back to school. The only reason why I stopped going to school was because I met a guy and got distracted chasing guys.”

Stripping may have helped Cardi B’s situation but she said she didn’t advise other girls to follow her footsteps. The reality star claimed that the dancing made her feel very insecure. Cardi B. revealed that she has had surgery to feel better about herself. She had her breasts and butt done.

Wow! For someone who has went through so much, she sure does hide it well on the show and is becoming a favorite. But back to the chasing boys part...Cardi B's men problems does seem to cause a lot of trouble with other ladies on the show.

Right now, the inspiring singer is creeping around with DJ Self, but he has a woman, Yorma Hernandez. Hopefully, this love triangle doesn't end up with more violence. The two ladies already had one altercation in a club!
