'Pee-wee's Big Holiday' Movie: Paul Reubens' Netflix Premiere Date With 'Daredevil' Season 2!

Netflix has set the premiere date of their original streaming movie, Pee-wee's Big Holiday. Paul Reubens returns as the ever popular Pee-Wee Herman, sharing the same premiere date as Marvel's Daredevil Season 2.

As we previously mentioned, comedian Paul Reubens rose to stardom as he dressed up in short black hair, a grey suit, and red bowtie as the comical character, Pee-Wee Herman. Pee-wee's Playhouse, which co-starred a up-and-coming Laurence Fishburne and Simpsons voice actor Phil Hartman, won he hearts of adults and children in the late '80s. With his upcoming dark turn as the Penguin's father on Gotham, Reubens returns to the character that made him a household name.

On his official Twitter account, even this guy's on social media, Pee-Wee tweets, "My new movie's first clip is LIVE!! (And the premiere date is set!)."

According to the plot synopsis, the man-child has a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger. The confrontation inspires him to take his first-ever holiday in an epic story of friendship and destiny. Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Jessica Pohly (Stalker), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) all take part in a script written by Reubens and Paul Rust (Love). The Netflix original movie was directed by John Lee (Wonder Showzen) and produced by Reubens and Judd Apatow (Trainwreck).

As reported by Variety, during the Television Critics Association press tour, Apatow dished on working with the childhood hero, "I love Pee-wee Herman, and I always wanted more Pee-wee Herman movies and TV shows so I'm very excited to see the film, which is really funny and silly and stays to the spirit of all his other work. He knows exactly what he wants to do and what the voice of that work is, so we tried to help in any way we can, but it really is a world he has invented. We're just trying to help to make another one."

TV Line confirms, Pee-wee's Big Holiday will premiere on Netflix Friday, March 18, at 12:01 am pst.
