On Sunday, Jarmal Reid was ejected during Oregon State's game against Utah for intentionally tripping a referee. The University announced that Reid would be suspended four games for his actions, per Nicole Auerbach of USA Today Sports.

With just under 3-minutes in the game, Reid fell to the floor after getting tangled up with Utah Center Jakob Poeltl. And while Reid came away with the ball, it appeared as though he felt that he was fouled, and became upset when no call was given. As referee Tommy Nunez attempted to run by Reid to keep up with the play, Reid appeared to intentionally extend his leg in an effort to trip the referee. Nunez issued Reid 2 flagrant fouls, warranting an immediate ejection from the game.

With their lineup depleted, Oregon State went on to lose the game, 53-59. Afterward, Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle discussed the matter, saying that Reid's behavior wasn't by any means condonable, but that he does realize they are dealing with a young man who needs support during this time to help grow through the situation.

"We are obviously very disappointed and apologize to everyone involved," said Tinkle, via ESPN. "Our university and our program do not condone this type of conduct on or off the court. We acted swiftly and severely, but also fairly with the understanding that we are dealing with a 22-year-old young man that we need to help grow through this situation."

Reid issued this statement in regards to the matter:

"First and foremost, I would like to apologize to Oregon State University, Beaver Nation, the Pac-12 Conference, my family, my coaching staff and teammates, and the game officials," Reid said. "I'm well aware that my actions not only embarrassed my family, but also the university and the Oregon State basketball program."

The Pac-12 will not step in to enforce any further punishment.
