Farhan Akhtar & Adhuna Bhabani Call it Quits: The Couple Ends Their 16 Years of Marriage!

Indian actor Farhan Akhtar and his wife, Adhuna Bhabani just became Bollywood's Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner when they announced to quit their 16 year long marriage.

Akhtar-Bhabani's announcement to end their marriage came as a shock to everybody in Indian Film Industry. There has been several speculations from a long time that the Wazir actor and his wife have decided to split up. And now, the recent reports suggests that the couple have ended their marriage.

According to a report from Mid-Day, the Rock On! actor has reportedly moved out of his Bandra house and is looking for a place to stay. Though there is no particular reason behind the sudden split, several reports suggests that the couple were drifting apart from a long time because of their busy schedules. The reports suggests that the couple has issued an official statement on Wednesday. The couple were quoted as:

"This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they be protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner."

Akhtar met Bhabani during his directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai in which she did the styling for Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna. According to Rediff.com, the couple got married in 2000 after three years of courtship and soon became proud parents of Akira and Shakya.

According to an official report from Times of India, speculations started to swirl around Akhtar's personal life when his wife of 16 years was not present during the screening of his latest release Wazir.

Akhtar will soon be seen in Rock On!! 2. The film is written and directed by Shujaat Saudagar and is produced by Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The film will also feature Arujn Rampal, Prachi Desai and Purab Kohli who were also seen in the prequel of the film. According to latest reports from NDTV Movies, Aashiqui 2 star, Shraddha Kapoor will also feature in the musical drama film. The film is slated to release in Nov. 11, 2016.
