Season 5 of Person of Interest will definitely return to CBS sometime in 2016. In the upcoming 13 episodes, is John Reese (Jim Caviezel) worried that the Machine will go after Harold Finch (Michael Emerson)'s true love, Grace Hendricks (Carrie Preston)?
In our fourth season finale recap, the war between the Machine and Samaritan left casualties and forged new alliances in its wake. After presumed dead, Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi) was last seen walking away willingly with Samaritan's agents. While Samaritan was executing its master plan, Greer's men put a bag over Control (Camryn Manheim)'s head and took her hostage. In the cliff-hanger, as Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine started playing, Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) walked out, with no gun, alongside Reese (Caviezel) and Root (Amy Acker) as they started shooting down Samaritan's agents.
According to TV Insider, the True Blood actress is in the middle of filming her return to The Good Wife. Keeping busy, The Following actress has also filmed a guest spot role on Netflix's Grace and Frankie. In addition to these acting gigs, Preston will also return for multiple episodes on Person of Interest as Grace.
As IGN reports, Grace happens to be the ex-fiancée of Harold Finch. In a bit of inside trivia for those who'd didn't know, Emerson is Preston's real-life husband. Grace came this close to meeting death when the Well-Manicured Man, I mean, Greer. Because Grace really believed Harold was dead, Greer continued the lie for Finch.
Grace will appear in the season premiere and as Preston teases, "also in an episode towards the end." Is Grace a goner folks?
As we previously mentioned, during the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, CBS president Glenn Geller states, "Person of interest, we ordered 13 episodes. We hope to get them on this spring. Greg [Plageman] and Jonah [Nolan] have planned a terrific season. I can't wait for fans of the show to see it. It'll be a real treat for viewers."
When asked what does "we hope," Geller replied if that meant the show would air sometime in the summer, "We will air Person of Interest this spring," We can only speculate what this means since the final day of spring is Sunday, June 19.
