Kristen Stewart is coming under fire after she made some pretty candid comments about gender equality in Hollywood in a new interview. Although some are praising the actress's comments, many are angered by them, calling her words, "hurtful, uneducated and thoughtless." See more people's reactions below.

The comments in question came during a video interview with Variety. Speaking on gender equality (not diversity in Hollywood as was first reported), Stewart said, "Instead of sitting around and complaining about that, do something," she said. "Go write something, go do something."

Later in the interview, she said, "And it's like, guys make more money because their movies make more money. Let's start making more movies. It makes sense."

What people really found issue with, however, were her ending remarks that the subject of gender equality "is just like so prevalently everywhere right now, and it's boring."

People took to Twitter to voice their disapproval of the quotes. One person said, "Regardless of whether Kristen Stewart was discussing diversity or gender disparity, her comments were hurtful, uneducated and thoughtless."

Another user described their feelings in multiple tweets, saying, "LOL even if Kristen Stewart's comments were about gender and not race, she's ignoring the fact that there are female media makers who aren't able to get the exposure/support that men are in the industry. Yes, it's important to make something and do something. But it's also important to make sure the convo is still talked about and prevalent. Gender equality isn't 'boring.'"

Some people saw the remarks a different way, saying, "[She] was not saying the issue of gender equality is boring, she was saying that people talking but not doing was boring."

Another person defended Stewart, saying:

Gender equality has been a hot topic in Hollywood in recent months, with stars like Jennifer Lawrence calling attention to the disparity in pay for female actors versus the pay given to male actors.
