WWE legend Ric Flair reportedly has been going through some medical issues. The "Nature Boy" allegedly had a health scare recently at "Monday Night Raw" in Philadelphia. Flair is getting up there in age at 64 and has had his fair share of medical issues throughout his career. Flair was recently featured in The Miz's corner, with the young WWE superstar using Flair's figure-four-leglock as his main move. Will Flair's health issues prevent him from being at "WrestleMania 29?"
According to PWInsider, Flair was supposed to participate in the legends Q and A on "Monday Night Raw" in Philadelphia, but he was sent home to Charlotte for medical testing after WWE doctors supposedly looked at Flair's leg that had a blood clot in it back in January. Supposedly Flair didn't look good at all over the weekend. Booker T filled in for Flair on "Raw."
According to F4Wonline, WWE was considering using Flair in an angle with The Miz leading up to "WrestleMania 29." Flair was supposed to be ringside for a Miz versus Wade Barrett match on April 7, but there is no word if that is still going to happen.
Ric Flair's agent, Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertainment, just released a statement about the WWE legend's health. The statement reads:
"Ric is doing well, he feels great, and is home. WWE's medical staff performed a physical on Ric yesterday, like they do all of their athletes, and recommended that he have a doctor take a closer look at his swollen leg. Upon arriving back in Charlotte today he went to see his doctors and it was determined that there is a blood clot. He was not admitted to the hospital, rather released with medication, which the doctors are confident will work quickly causing Ric to completely heal soon. Ric appreciates everyone's concern and is looking forward to seeing fans at his next scheduled appearance in Hagerstown, MD on Friday and performing for WWE very soon."
It sounds like Ric Flair won't be out of action for long and it wasn't too serious of an issue. However, you have to wonder if WWE is getting gun shy after Jerry Lawler's heart attack happening not too long ago. Lets hope Flair has a speedy recover and we can watch him on WWE TV soon.
