Nicole Richie Divorcing Joel Madden After 5 Years of Marriage: Split Rumors Circulate Again!

Nicole Richie is reportedly planning to file for divorce from Joel Madden, after being married for five years. An insider reveals the 34-year-old fashion designer and reality star is working out the details of her divorce currently. Richie is planning to file for divorce while Madden is on tour with his band, Good Charlotte.

Life & Style reports Richie has been meeting with her lawyer to prepare to end her marriage to the rocker.

A source told the publication, "Details still need to be hashed out. Joel is going on tour in February, and Nicole plans on going through with it while he’s gone.”

ET reported in May 2015 that the couple's marriage was on the rocks after Richie was spotted without her wedding ring and moving vans were photographed outside their Los Angeles home. But the couple shot those rumors down with loved-up photos on Instagram.

The split rumors began circulating again in November 2015, with OK! claiming Madden was spotted on a lunch date in Beverly Hills with another woman.

An insider told the publication, "Nicole has some serious issues with the way Joel lives his life. She’s been begging him for years to cut down on the drinking and partying. He gets the most horrific hangovers, which only makes their fights worse. But he can’t take her lecturing him — he feels like he’s married to his mom!"

Life & Style revealed that Richie found incriminating texts with another woman on her husband's phone.

A source stated, "The girl told Joel she was excited to see him when he comes back to Australia to film The Voice. Nicole felt sick to her stomach reading all the messages the mystery lady had sent."

After the latest set of rumors of marital problems, they have posted photos showing they are still together.

Richie and Madden tied the knot in 2010. They have two children together - 8-year-old daughter Harlow and a 6-year-old son named Sparrow.
